Sometimes I’ve had the need to open Microsoft Publisher files my colleagues made, to either view or edit them on a Mac.
There are a few ways to handle this workflow.
First, you can buy apps for the Mac, iPhone or iPad that handle this conversion process. The problem is that they’re typically expensive.
Second, many websites will allow you to convert the Microsoft Publisher file to a PDF format for free. The only problem is you wont be able to edit the file. However, if you just want to see what the document contains, this is a good method.
Finally, and my preferred solution, is to install the free LibreOffice suite. Using this tool, you can view and edit the Microsoft Publisher file.
