Today’s tip comes from one of my friends. He has an idea he calls ‘foreshadowing’. In order to support the learning, the children in his kindergarten classes (unknowingly) get a preview of what’s to come in a future theme/lesson.
So, for example, a new song about colours might be introduced into his playlist of songs for before the class (or during the break time) a week or two before they actually go on to study colors.
The same for the demo he was doing for the school. He’d play a song that the students were going to learn during the demo, once or twice before the demo actually started.
This way, students actually have been exposed to the language or ideas before they start to study them.
I think it’s a great idea to use with your classes.
